Our Mission
No Space 4 Waste Boracay (NS4W) is a pioneering eco-friendly project dedicated to addressing the growing pollution problem caused by glass and plastic waste. By utilizing advanced recycling technologies, we transform these waste materials into durable and sustainable building and construction resources. Our mission is to reduce pollution, conserve natural resources, and promote a circular economy on Boracay Island.
NS4W aims to enhance solid waste management by converting plastic and glass waste into sustainable construction materials for local public and private projects. We provide a straightforward solution to a long-standing issue while fostering a strong sense of community and shared responsibility among residents, tourists, businesses, and the local government. In Boracay, there truly is no space for waste.
Our Progress
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
Discarded glass bottles collected from commercial establishments are compiled at our facility. Non-glass particles, like metal and plastic caps, get separated and then processed in our glass crushing machine. Various glass variations ranging from 0.5 - 1.5 millimeters get sifted and prepared for ready-to-mix cement. This mix is optimally prepared for robust hollow blocks, paver blocks, tiles, and alternative aggregate that complies with ASTM, AASHTO and DPWH specifications that measure the fluxural integrity, compressive strength, and overall quality of our sustainable materials.
Glass recycling is the primary focus for the first stage of our initiative. Recycling and repurposing plastic waste will be the primary focus in the second stage of our initiative.
